In an address marking his former-Soviet state's national day on Friday, Mr Lukashenko said the stationing of the weapons in Belarus was 'my firmest initiative'.
Mr Lukashenko, the Kremlin's staunchest ally in its war in Ukraine, and Vladimir Putin have acknowledged some tactical weapons arrived in Belarus and the remainder would be there by the end of the year. Belarus's President Alexander Lukashenko has said he is certain Russian tactical nuclear weapons deployed in his country will never be used.
